Engagement Luncheon

One of the girls from my work recently became in engaged. {whooo hooo} So, a couple of us girls thought it would be fun to host a small luncheon for her. We decided to have Skinny Girl Margarita Cocktails and some Mexican food. I was in charge of decorating the table.  Because it was a small group, her kitchen table was perfect to set up there.  I used a bright flowery fabric as a table runner and each table setting had a round placemat, plate, silverware, name tag, a mason jar with chalkboard name tag and a mini champagne bottle as the guests favor.  For the flowers I went to my local florist and picked up some flowers with bright colors to match the table runner. I put the flowers in a mason jar filled with water and lemons.  I also used a couple white hydrangeas and placed them in mini candle jars.

I used mini pails and flipped them upside down to add a little height on both sides of the table.

The table setting. Loved using mason jars as glasses. So fun and different!

I loved the look of the lemons in a mason jars with flowers. The only thing I would change is waiting until the morning of to arrange my flowers with the lemons as I think the acid in the lemons started to wilt my flowers a bit. Lesson learned.

These mini champagne bottles are so cute. I loved them. They are a great favor for guests.

Of course we needed cupcakes! I made chocolate on chocolate and added "Congrats Kristen" Toppers. Yummy!

The girls & Maggie the dog!

Congrats Kristen!!!
